Multiplier Event – Ireland

Ładowanie Wydarzenia

The Rural Hub in collaboration with Cavan Institute and Clones Art Studio organised a multiplier event to promote the benefits of intergenerational learning in the craft and artisan skills. The participants were staff and students at Cavan Institute – a further education facility that offers post-leaving certified courses for adult learners in Cavan and the Northwest of Ireland.

  • The programme for the day began by welcoming all participants to the Clones Art Studio, in Clones Co. Monaghan. The Rural Hub presented the overview of the CASCADE project, giving participants an overall understanding of the aims and objectives of the project. During the event, participants had the opportunity to explore the resources and watch the case study videos of Irish individuals from the Meet the Makers materials. The training resources were also introduced to the participants. This full-day event also included guest speakers who work in the arts sector, providing advice and tips on careers and business guidance.
  • Eileen Ferguson and Joanne Behan set up the Clones Art Studio in 2012. Eileen and Joanne talked the participants through their journey, highlighting the challenges they faced and how they achieved their dream of opening an art studio to share with other artists.
  • The participants were set the challenge to create postcards depicting images of Clones Town, they took time to explore the town and capture images and focal points they could use for their postcards. Once the participants had captured the images and information they wanted to display on the postcards they entered the studio to begin the process of creating the finished product.
  • The participants had a very successful and enjoyable day, gaining invaluable information about the project, and career guidance to pursue their own careers within the industry!
